Rollin Burhans

Rollin Burhans brings twenty years' experience, a business perspective, and a passion for accountability and business impact to his consulting work. He specializes in organization design, business transformation, leadership and organization development, and change management consulting that develops and increases the organization's capability and effectiveness to execute its strategies and value proposition. His consulting work covers the breadth of organization effectiveness:

  • Organization design and development and leadership and management effectiveness

    • Design, development, and alignment of business operating models, organization structures, governance and decision-making, funding, business processes, leadership and management practices, and talent management processes with business purpose and strategy

    • Large scale organization change, including globalization, business and culture transformation, acquisition and merger integration, re-structuring, process improvement, operational effectiveness, and technology and shared services implementation

    • Executive coaching, new executive assimilation, New Team Start-Up, and team and partnership development and alignment for internal leadership teams and between external alliance partners

  • Human capital management (design, development, and implementation of strategic HR capabilities)

    • Collaboration with HR and business executives to define, develop, execute, and/or transform HR strategy, services, and solutions

    • Development, implementation, and integration of strategic HR capabilities and services with business operating models

Rollin has extensive experience working with companies and organizations in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, consumer, and information-based industries. His clients include global public and private commercial businesses as well as not-for-profit and government organizations.

He often works with academicians and clinicians who have executive leadership accountabilities, have transitioned into industry, or are developing partnerships or collaborations with science and technology companies. Some recent work includes global organization re-structuring, process re-alignment and leadership development work with clinical pharmacology, translational medicine, genetics, informatics and pharmacogenomics, and clinical development units. Rollin has specific interest in these areas all of which have significant implications for different drug development processes, 'personalized medicine,' and more patient-centric and/or disease-centric health care.

Rollin earned his master’s degree in psychology from Wake Forest University, and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the international Organization Design Forum (ODF), and is also a member of the Organization Development Network, SHRM, and the Center for Entrepreneurial Development.
